… the HR Minion. Because even minions have opinions. And giggles.

I’m a bad at being Irish I guess

I was watching news coverage of all the St. Patrick’s day celebrations today and I have to say, I guess I’m not living up to my Irish heritage. I’m wearing green, but I’m not out partying, I’m not wearing a jaunty hat, and I’m not even drunk. Oh my, such a disappointment to my ancestors.

What I am doing is sitting here staring at my computer trying to crank out a blog post and deciding again and again that I don’t like what I’m writing. Sigh. It was going to be a post all about how companies can do bad things and still not break any laws, but it was getting me down and, supposedly, I should be living it up today.

Oh well. So here’s the moral of the story that I’m not going to write. Companies can be dicks to their employees. Despite having many labor laws in this country, there are many things that aren’t regulated. Sure, it can suck for the employees who work for those companies that break that psychological contract when times are tough. However, the laws of this country are not meant to be all inclusive, and just because something isn’t fair, it doesn’t mean that companies don’t have the right or need to do it.

So enough with the sad thoughts, everybody is a little bit Irish today, so I guess that means put Riverdance on the TV and chug some green beer. As for me, I’m probably going to go to bed. I’m a little bit Irish everyday, you know.
